Just a quick question guys / gals.

If I upload say a 100MB Zip file containing photos to my webspace and then give the download link to 10 of my friends so they can download the said zip file.  Will my monthly bandwidth allowance be affected in anyway by my friends downloading the zip?

Thanks

vit

Lance

Nope! And it won't even be affected by the upload as uploads are unlimited. :)

It's strange, when you think about it. Giving us webspace, the photo album etc actually adds to the bandwidth requirement for IDNet, yet they don't charge us for the facility.

That's because the bandwidth being used is from our web server to the Internet - i.e. not through BT's very, *very* expensive Centrals.

Ah, thanks for that, Simon.  :thumb: Presumably, though, there is an added cost for you, though?

There is, that's why we had to place limits on the bandwidth used. If someone where to try to host a commercial site on their space then we may have to invite them to subscribe to a commercial package.

Rik

Well, I still think you're generous for giving us the facilities in the first place. :)

The facilities certainly are very generous.  I don't know of any other ISPs who offer as much inclusive webspace as IDNet do in their packages.
