We are expecting to launch our ADSL2+ services from next month. That is, if
BT hit the install date for our new 21CN (21st Century Network) link. We
will then be able to provide "up-to-24Mbps" services to customers whose BT
Exchange has been upgraded to the 21CN. We will be contacting customers who
are serviced from upgraded Exchanges to let you know that you can upgrade if
you wish to.

We were also expecting to be able to move all current ADSL1 20CN (20th
Century Network = up-to-8Mbps) connections away from our existing BT
Centrals to the new high-capacity 21CN link. However, BT have recently
announced a delay with the merger of the old 20CN with the new 21CN backhaul
pipes. This merger was due to take place last July but will not now happen
until next Summer.

BT are aiming to have upgraded enough Exchanges to 21CN to cover 40% of the
population by next Spring. However, the exchange upgrade dates appear to be
slipping. Indeed there is no guarantee that the 20CN-to-21CN merger date
(Summer '09) won't slip again also.

We have therefore decided that, in the meantime, we must order a new 20CN
Central from BT in order to ensure that we can continue to provide the level
of service to our customers that you expect. The lead time for these pipes
is three months so it should be online early in the New Year.
