Hey guys

I just found out Viking Direct offer 30 day trial with all chairs, if u dont like send it back and get a full refund (no stocking fee)

So its ideal, pretty cheap and large range. Im looking at either -

perhaps i can go for cheapest, try it out and upgrade to the next one if needed..

I'd certainly be inclined to start at the bottom and work up, so to speak.

Aldi are doing a leather chair next week too, I don't know if that would be worth a look?

i dont really get on with chairs in which the back does not move on its own accord (when the button pressed that is...it would just be scary if it moved on its own!)

I am definately goin to aim for the cheap one

Rubbish chair, imo, having tried one. Ideally, you need to be about 5' to use it, otherwise the headrest is pushing into your back, making you lean forward. I found it had no lumbar support as a result. At 5'2", Sue finds it adequate, but that's as far as she would go.

our chair came from Viking and we got it for £35. The annoying thing is, nicky's dad did the accounts for them one year and they only cost viking $3.50 from China. I think it was the Malaga model we got and it is quite good for the money.

If you're not too far from one it might be worth taking a trip to Ikea. They do some quite reasonable office chairs at not bad prices

I wonder how China can produce the goods at those sorts of prices though - it doesn't appear to even meet the costs of the raw materials.

I'm sure you're right, In. I just wonder whether it goes further, and they have a long-term strategy of pulling in manufacture from around the world at prices that can't be beaten. Once they've achieved that, they create a dependency which makes them very powerful. A bit similar to the Russian model with gas.
