My only grumble is the rubbish keyboard and mouse that comes with it.

The easiest things to fix, Philip, along with the monitor.

for the price, and the PC's specs. I cannot fault it. :thumb: It worked straight out of the box, took about 10 minutes to get it all up and running.

The case is pleasant to look at, well built and comes with a silver facia and white sides. Plenty of room to work inside with good scope for upgrading.

Vista Home Premium is brilliant, don't believe all the talk of software/hardware not being compatible, my scanner and printer, both over 3 years old were installed with drivers obtained from relevant manufacturers websites. My favourite software also installed with no problems.

It is also very very quiet, the CPU temps are around 36 centigrade, the motherboard and harddrive run slightly lower, the CPU fan at about 1700 revs.

My only grumble is the rubbish keyboard and mouse that comes with it.

That's how I found it too. Excellent value for money! I never even took the bundled mouse and keyboard out of their wrappers, as I've already got some nice MS ones I use!

it's strange that you get attached to certain makes / brands of keyboards and mice.

eg.  I use an Intellimouse Explorer v3 mouse, I just cannot use anything else, tried a few Logitechs, Razers and I just can't get comfortable with them.

Philip

the Memory arrived today, 10 minutes after getting home, the Memory was installed, now showing as 3316MB available. Brought back memories of my first memory upgrade 10/11 years ago when I upgraded from 8MB to a whopping 16MB.

How times have moved on  ;D

Sebby

Indeed, Philip. I can't believe how cheap RAM is; I saw this the other day and couldn't believe my eyes!

Rik

I wonder where we are in the memory-price cycle atm?

It's one of those products that seems to fluctuate for no apparent reason.

Rik

With the recession, there should soon be a surplus, so I'd expect prices to fall initially, followed by a cut in production and a price hike. Add in some $/£ variation for extra interest. :)

But then when does anything ever follow logic?

Rik

In my experience, very rarely.  :shake:
