I'm sure that it will get it's share of plaudits and alot of people will play it, but I don't trust Treyarch to make a decent game. Besides after Call of Duty : Modern Warefare why go back to WWII.

I'll be playing Gears of War 2 instead I think.

Because 'nam has been done a few times in recent years, and there is far more info about regarding WWII so more people would buy it as they know more. It's pretty poop and I'd like a new spin on the genre, but hey ho, as long as it's as good or better than 4 I'll be happy

I've been playing the beta of cod5 and to be honest, they've screwed it up! Just doesn't feel like a cod game.

I applied for the beta but no luck this time, I had a blast with the CoD4 beta though, that's the most I've ever seen of my friend, he couldn't stop coming round to play it. lol

When you say that "it doesn't feel like a CoD game" what exactly is it about it? Care to write a longer review?

Gears of War 2 is out in 25 days!!!! Woohoo.

not got time to write a longer review but......

the movement just doesn't feel like all the other CoD games. i dont know how to explain it. its sposed to be the CoD 4 engine but just doesn't seem it.

one annoying thing is. on some multiplayer maps they have dogs that attack and kill you if you dont kill them.. it distracts you from the objective.

plus it took me 5 rifle shots to the head to kill someone and i was stood right behind the person!!

hope its not like this when its out as it will be like CoD3.

I think they will finely tune the gameplay before release day, i cant wait, still play cod4 everyday and if this is anyway near as good i will be a happy chappy

My clan have been watching this with interest and I must admit, the general conscensus is buyer beware.

I don't doubt that I will buy it, (I am a sucker for hype) but I think I am going to be disappointed

Having played all and ran servers for these since the 1st one, other than 3 that was console only, i would imagine most of our lot will have it from day 1, and providing the server files are out at start then we will have it on the server same night.

The previews in the press have all been pretty positive so fingers crossed they haven't screwed it up as they did with 3.

I haven't brought a new game in about 3 years, my racing game of choice, rFactor continually has new content released for it in the form of tracks and mods. I have run a server for the past 2 years, mainly running the excellent Caterham mod with approximately 20 drivers attending each race we run.

I finally got my beta for the 360 today.

had a quick blast, so other than the dogs i can't really comment yet.

I'm sure on the pc version the server cfg's will allow us to turn elements like the dogs off etc in MP.

Just a tad

Not quite sure what to make of the game.
Initially it does not look as polished as 4, nor does it play in the same manner, perhaps its the newness and i'll get used to it. Also i'm c&&p on the 360 at best of times at fps, i need my mouse and KB

Will keep persevering though.

I'm cr*p at CoD:WAW but alot better at CoD4. But i do miss the mouse and keyboard. Thats why i also play CoD4 on the PC aswell

Tends to be after 10pm when majority use them although been a bit quiet recently

Anyone now playing this game will no doubt realise that it has been released too early and can cause no end of problems on the machine it is installed on. This despite a 300+ Mb patch on the day it was released.

Personally, up 'til last night, the only problem I have had was having to install Directx 9.0c in order to get it to run. Others that I know have had PC crashes, BSoD's or it just refuses to run at all.

Your player profile can also quite easily be lost. This means that any perks you have built up will also be lost. If you dont have a backup, then its back to square one, (if you can be bothered). One of our members posted a link to a little utility that some clever chap has written to make profile backups very easy for both Win XP and Win Vista users.

I used this and made a backup of my profile, ( I did scan it first, just in case

). This was fortunate as while playing last night, my PC Blue screened and when I rebooted and restated the game, my profile was lost.

I do still like this game, particularly the larger maps with all the nice hidie holes. Treyach need to move quickly though to fix some of the serious problems that it has...

Wish i had seen that before.

Just reformatted my pc at the weekend.

To try and keep my rank i literally copied the whole waw folder and then pasted back in once installed.

No bloody rank kept though, had to start again last night. was level 38 now at 18

It works well, and as I say, I had to use it last night. I think I will use it after every game session now. It creates a seperate, unique copy of your profile folder each time you run it.

Has anyone played the Co-Op mode in this game?

Its fantastic fun

You play the single player game levels but with up to 4 on-line players in your squad. The action is non-stop and the graphics superb.

I played the first level, the fishing village "Makin" followed by a beach landing on a Japanese held island. This was awesome and reminiscent of the old Medal of Honor Omaha landing level. This was far more demanding however with lots going on.

Other levels included wading through a jungle and dealing with Japanese snipers hidden in the palm trees. One of our squad had a flame thrower

If you or any of your on-line buddies get hurt, there is a limited amount of time in which to find them and "revive" them. If they die then the level begins again.

I cant believe that Treyach have made the game this good but have failed in other areas, such that many people cant even get the thing to run.
