Baz

where do you buy your blank CDs from. Are they good/bad quality.

Normally I just go to the fairs but need some soon-ish but not worth going to fairs just for that.

Sebby

Play.com are quite cheap. I often see deals posted on HotUKDeals. :)

Simon

Yup, Play.com for me too.  Last time I ordered, they were doing 3 for 2 on 100 x Maxell CD-Rs at £14.99 per spindle.

Also worth checking Amazon out, avoid their " marketplace sellers " tho'.

Amazon have free P&P on sales over £14.97.

Never had a problem with Amazon Market Place, but you don't get the free delivery with them.

Play are free P&P on everything, btw.  ;)

I avoid Market Place sellers for that very reason Simon, as well as they are a bit of a mixed bunch.

Yes to Play being free delivery Simon, but they are not always the cheapest.

I get mine from a computer fair which is held every Saturday and the most reliable blank media I've used are Infiniti whites and Rivision whites.

Red and yellow blanks have had the highest rates of failure for me, so I now avoid those and use Rivision blue when Rivision or Infiniti whites aren't available.

Apparently, the colour indicates which pressing plant it has come from and some plants are, I gather, better than others.

To answer the question, play.com seem to have the cheapest branded media but their Play Trade associates take longer to deliver.

Bigpockets.co.uk are pretty good for media, for DVD's I always try to buy Ritek branded discs, they just seem to work better for me.  Anyway have a browse, they're pretty competitive, not sure on delivery prices though, good for printer inks too.

I used to get all of my media at the local computer fairs too Baz, which fairs do you go to?  The main ones I used to go to

Nissan
Gateshead Stadium
Middlesbrough Riverside Stadium

Rik

I used to recommend SVP, but I hear mixed stories these days sadly. :(

Indeed a sad day Rik, they now belong to the same outfit as Bigpockets and a few others.
