A colleague has asked me about antispam, but as i don't use it i can't give a personal recommendation! She already has nod32 so has asked if she should just upgrade to the security suite, or whether there are any good free ones? She has outlook xp so most things should be compatible. Help! :)

My first recommendation would be for her to stop using outlook. It has a very poor record of being compromised by boobytrapped emails.

I would recommend she changes to Thunderbird which can be downloaded from www.mozilla.com . As well as being more secure it has a built in adaptive spam filter.

Cheers,
Paul.

I love Outlook and so I wouldn't switch from it. It's built-in junk filter is good, but it needs to be kept up-to-date. The easiest way to do this is to enable Microsoft Update, then you get Office updates as well as Windows updates.

You can also use something like SpamPal, which sits between Outlook and the internet and filters the junk as it comes in. It's pretty good.
