Back in 2006 Acronis did a free deal on V7 of True Image. They did this a couple of times with different sponsors.

This was the old link:-

I think that is all finished now. If someone has any details on a newer offer I think quite a few of us would be interested.

If you want to completely wipe the drive to a "virgin" state, download and burn to disk a copy of DBAN.
You can use all sorts of media.

Boot from the disk and follow the instructions, make sure you really want to wipe the drive (or partition )because you're not going to get the data back.

This is especially good for drives that are sold on, or scrapped.
