Are these stats good or bad?

I am running a Belkin wireless N router and my connection lately has been terrible, all over the place to be honest.
Found these stats on my router info screen :-

  Type Fast Path
   Status SHOWTIME
    Downstream Upstream

   Data rate(Kbps) 8128 448

   Noise Margin 9 23

   Output power(dBm) 119 198

   Attenuation(dB) 29 17

Not really sure what they should be so any input will be appreciated  :)

Further info : I just ran the BT test and got this .....

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6502 kbps

Hi DS, and  :welc:  :karma:

Your throughput looks OK for your profile, maybe a little down, but there will be people here who would kill for that sort of speed!  As for the router stats, someone more qualified than me will be along soon to comment.  When you say 'terrible', do you mean slow, or have you been having lots of disconnections?

Stats and BT test look good.  Check your router log if you can for evidence of errors and disconnections also if your using wireless networking is that working ok

I am connected to the router via ethernet cable. My connection has been terrible due to lag, mapservers, etc when I am online gaming (city of heroes).
Also surfing the net normally is really slow, various speedtesters put my speeds around the 1-3mb mark and download speeds are rubbish.
When I first joined IDnet from ADSL24 my speeds were great but I have noticed a marked drop in quality lately.Customer service when contacted said there were probbly more ppl using my exchange and thats the cause.
But I read the other day that IDnet are struggling with capacity so I am not so sure on that one.
Anyways hope they sort their capacity issues out else it will be moving on time yet again lol :)

Simon

They are sorting out the capacity issues, and have ordered a new Central from BT:

I don't quite understand, from the results of your BT Speed Tester test, how your surfing speeds can be so low.  Again, I may be talking out of hat (cleaned that up ;) ), but have you run spyware / anti-virus scans lately?

I'd say things look pretty perfect. You've got full sync and a decent noise margin. :thumb:

They were during the Olympics but haven't been since. There has been an issue with one central but, afaik, that's now been re-balanced and shouldn't be an issue. What we have seen, though, is an increase in the number of reports of isolated speed issues, which suggests that it's local to certain exchanges or, more likely, VPs. BT seem to have cut back investment in their focus on WBC/21CN.

In other respects, as Seb says, your stats are nigh on perfect and the BT test looks good. Latency issues might be down to routing, so if you can identify specific servers, let support have some pings/tracerts and they may be able to re-route the traffic.
