I prefer black, especially surrounding a screen, as it seems to bring out the contrast more.  But then, I prefer black in everything, and never saw the attraction with silver cased equipment.

Same here Simon and I wouldnt be surprised if this wasn t a big factor..high gloss black for me

I run 2 of their L22WT monitors and will replace older screens with these LG's when necessary.

At £150 you can't go wrong

I don't notice the silver surround and the 3000.1 contrast doesn't need any help from the surround to achieve an ideal display.

Looks like it may be a special model made for the DRG.

For comparison, this LG model has a similar specification (although claims a better contrast ratio), is marginally cheaper and does come with a black surround.

It would be an added bonus if it came with the girl in the picture but I guess that would be asking too much at that price

LG monitors always seem to get reasonable reviews so I'd say either would give you good value for your money.
