I saw this when I watched The Gadget Show last night.

It's nothing we don't already know, and I can't help but feel that - like most of the time - the guys on The Gadget Show don't fully understand the issue, but it's quite interesting nonetheless. :)

Rik

They're a bit like Watchdog really, Seb, talk the talk, make the noise, don't get to grips with the issue. :(

You're right there, Rik. Perhaps I was a little harsh; their campaign last time about broadband speed (which completely dismissed the issue of sync rate) was a lot worse. I see the point that they're trying to make, but they're looking at providers like Orange and BT Broadband, so it's expected, or at least should be expected!

Rik

That's the problem these days, Seb, they want to sensationalise, it's all about entertainment, not journalism.

Tacitus

Completely clueless.  No exploration of the issues, pure sensationalism.

I think you are being a little unfair. The campaign is specifically aimed at the "unlimited usage" angle, and so sync speed is not really a direct issue. If they help to raise the profile of these dishonest marketing strategies, then more power to them, I say.

Oh - and I supposed I'm biased on account of Susie being a babe and I quite like the Gadget Show anyway :)
Have I lost my way?

The sync comment was aimed at their last campaign, not this one. :)
