processors

does any one have info of what the different processor numbers mean for speed etc. and the different names of them. are some basic entry level/slower than others, remember the celeron name. both intel and amd if poss please

thanks Glenn although I cant find any spec for an Intel Core 2 Duo T5850  unless im not looking properly.


is it just me or does that site hurt your eyes, its like when you look at a light bulb wrong and get the glare burnt as an image........

Toms hardware keeps an up to date list on CPUs currently available.

You can see how they perform if you select the CPU type from the boxes on the right and then select a task to use for the comparison from the blue applications list below the main text.

Then tick the processors that interest you and it will do a side by side comparison for all the applications.

I could be wrong, but I think the "T" C2Ds are mobile processors.

Yeah I think they are.

T5850 I couldn't find it there either but I think this is it.

CPU Speed : 2.16 GHz
Bus Speed : 667 MHz
L2 Canche Size : 2 MB

I suppose the bus speed is a tad on the slow side but acceptable in laptop terms

Especially when the HD spindle speed is 5400, which will be the biggest bottleneck.
