I'm trying to find a mouse that meets the following requirements

1: optical or laser sensing (not ball)
2: cordless
3: rechargeable
4: can be charged while in use
5: has a decent range (about 10m)

anyone got any idea on mice that would fit theese requirements?

If I'm honest - I haven't looked back since I bought a trackball and a couple of rechargeable batteries.

Where it meets your requirements is:-

It's optical
It's cordless
With rechargeable batteries - it's rechargeable
Buy 4 batteries - charge in use is not an issue (though I can't remember the last time I changed batteries - I expect them to die now)
Range is largely dependent on environment - this uses Bluetooth - so has a theoretical 10M max.

Additional advatanges

Less desk space required
Stopped my aching arms overnight
More precise

If you want to know which I got, it's at http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Peripherals/Mice/Logitech+Cordless+TrackMan+Optical+USB%2F+%26+PS%2F2+?productId=19545

I'm not sure if it meets your requirements or not but Aldi have one on Thursday 11th Dec. It doesn't give much in the way of specification but it's priced at £15.59 which seems reasonable to me but I don't know how it compares with alternatives.

There is a link here.

I would recommend any mouse by Microsoft. Every one i've ever used has been comfortable and although not rechargable the batteries last easily 6 months even with heavy use. I've got the 5000 myself at home, and the more basic but still good 1000v2 (i think) at work.

I agree with you there, Lance. I think they're the best (even better than Logitech).

Rik

Another MS fan here. I'm not sure that anyone makes a cordless mouse than can be recharged while in use, though.

Nor me Rik, I have one in Spain that recharges a spare pair of AA's in the USB sensor, but that isn't quite the same thing.

I swear by my Logitech, I have had it over 3 years, no problems at all.
Anything and everything that I post on here is purely my opinion, it ain't going to change the world, you are under no obligation to agree with me, it is purely my expressed opinion.

I just swear at my mouse. ;)

I'd always recommend Kensington wired mice, but I don't know what their cordless ones are like.

merlin

surely if its rechargeable in use ,then it must have a cable and therefore can't be cordless !!!

Rik

That's my thinking, Bob, unless someone has a short range induction charger.

I think the op meant it can be charged and used at the same time, rather than having to go on a charging/docking station. I used to have one years ago which when it came to charging time you just plugged the cable in at the front and it became a conventional wired mouse.

Ann

I've had my logitech rechargeable for years and it's still going strong.  I'd definitely buy another when it becomes necessary.
