I've noticed a real reduction of spam emails in my Yahoo.co.uk mail account in the last couple of weeks, some days my Spam folder is actually empty. Has anyone else noticed this with their accounts?

Rik

Sorry, I don't use Yahoo, Noreen.

Come to think of it, you're right, Noreen.  I haven't checked the spam folder by webmail, but there's been hardly anything coming though POP3.

I haven't had much in my non-yahoo email since the spammers in the states were busted.  I expect they'll be up and running again shortly.

I use Gmail and I've not noticed any reduction, I get an average of a dozen a day. :thumbd:

I have a Yahoo webmail account that was set up for freecycle only and I didn't get any spam for about fours years until about six months ago.  Same thing for a few of my friends.

Then, about two weeks ago it stopped completely.  Which is nice.

I wonder if Yahoo! have implemented some new spam filtering system, whereby messages that are definitely spam don't even go into junk...

Would you believe Bill Gates for my Hotmail account, I don't like the way Yahoo attempts to worm their Toolbars in by almost devious back door methods via 3rd party programmes.

You know, the opt out if you don't want it kind of thing. ;)
