> Zone Alarm version 7.0.302.000

I used the update link in ZA but it didn't tell me i needed one.

I have found a link here - http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Firewall/ZoneAlarm-Free.shtml

I packed ZA in a while ago when it started playing up.
Just use the router and windoze firewall - seems ok so far touch wood.

I'm a router/avast man meself. Can't stand Win Firewall - I always disable it. :P

Why's that?  I never notice it.

WF only blocks  traffic one way so i have always used ZA & my routers firewall, belt n braces  :D

I guess it stems from my early attempts at p2p and not being able to configure it properly, that and it only updates once a month, but by all accounts it's not all that good at catching stuff anyway - not so important if your router is a tight as a ducks I guess. The thing I like best about avast is that it updates at least once every day.

So did I, I did a test on my computer and it showed up secure.
Anything and everything that I post on here is purely my opinion, it ain't going to change the world, you are under no obligation to agree with me, it is purely my expressed opinion.

AVG also updates  every day but i use the manual method rather than rely on the auto option, again belt n braces

If you want to check your set up for security have a play here - https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Click the proceed button then use the file sharing, common ports & all service ports.

They should all show "stealth"  ;)
