New firmware for this router is available here. Primarily, it adds support for WPA2 security, plus WPAx-802.1x.

There is also new firmware for the non-wireless DG834 here. This seems to be purely bug fixes.

It seems to be easier to flash the routers from IE, Firefox got a bit confused during the re-boot.  ::)

Though it should be noted that this software is NOT compatible with the V2 router. :police:

Rik

Er, that's why I entitled the thread with a v3...  :P

Er, but not everybody  reads everything properly, or knows that it matters whether their router is V2 or V3, or even knows which it is.
I was merely providing an added layer of security to your post - a bit like the warnings on cigarette packets.
I should hate to see you sued for inadequate warnings by some poor soul who's ruined his Netgear V2 on the strength of your advice to upgrade his firmware.

However, if you'd rather I withdraw my post, then that's fine.

LOL!

If someone wants to sue me because they didn't read my post or the website, I shall point them firmly in the direction of your post. :)

I should also mention that this upgrade is not compatible with my Speedtouch 585 and I am now having to write this on dialup.

Rik

LOL!

It didn't do much for my Speedtouch frog either. :)
