After seeing a Mac demonstrated I'm very tempted to get one. Hoping they might be in the sale at my local John Lewis.. I know the price is higher than a PC but I'm edging towards one each time I see them.
Can somebody please put me off?  Any pitfalls?
.
Thanks
Alan

No pitfalls, Alan. You'll need to get used to the differences, but it's not that different to Windows - iow you already know the basics before you start.

There is an interesting, but not very legal way of turning a PC into a MAC, search for hackintosh

I'm afraid I can't put you off. I've found myself in the same boat since getting an iPhone. If you're looking at an iMac like I am, you're best to wait until January - a new model is rumoured to be coming out. ;)

As a Mac user for some 16 years Seb, I'd agree with that.  A lot of stuff often comes out at MWSF - MacWorld San Francisco to the uninitiated.  I'm guessing at iMac updates and a new version of the Mac Mini.

This will the last MWSF which Apple will attend, so no doubt updates in future will arrive when they're ready, rather than have the, by now traditional, guessing game at this time of the year.

Or maybe Apple aren't releasing anything ever again ;)

But if that happened, Microsoft would have nothing to copy.......
