Well i'm going to be looking for a new phone after xmas.

The choices so far are.

Nokia N96, Nokia N97 (when its out early 2009) or Samsung i900

What do you think?

Simon

I currently have an N82, and would have an N96 like a shot, if it was more affordable.  The N97 looks a bit of a handful, but the keypad looks quite a bit easier to use than a lot of the smaller ones.  The only annoyance I have with the N82 is the fiddly keypad, and it's hard to find a phone with nice big chunky keys these days.

I always used to swear by Sony Ericsson phones, and had 5 or 6 on the trot, but the latest models have left me cold, and the one I was looking at, the C905, has received some terrible reviews.

Simon gone off Sony  :eek4: this is like Amy Winehouse going off booze.I have the L.G Viewty which has been very good have no complaints  ;D
Many hammer all over the wall and believe that with each blow they hit the nail on the head.

I would go with either of the Nokias, but would hold out for the N97 (which may be my next phone).

The Nokia N96 is nice (I've had a play in the phone shop- they are very tolerant of my playing in there :P). The N97 looks like it's going to be a good one. I'm a pretty big Nokia fan (most of my phones have been Nokia) but the next phone I'm getting is the G1 from T-Mobile :D

Now with Be for internets, IDNet for phone.

The N96 has bad battery life and is not a great upgrade from the N95 8GB tbh you can pick up a N95 8GB and it will do all you want with better battery life, I was going to look at the SE C905 but I use video calling and they do not have a camera onm the for vid calls  ??? so you have to use the main camera and cannot see the person you are talking to, not really that great. Best bet is to see what 2009 brings :)

I currently have the normal Nokia N95 and i'm looking for something better, more techy  ;D

When i saw the Nokia N97, i thought, wow i'm gunna get that.
Then i saw the phone my boss has. the samsung i900 and liked that one aswell.

So i'm really looking for something that has a keypad aswell as a touch screen. I dont think i could get on with touch screen keypads (i cant with the iphone)

Rik

Make life easy, Paul, get a netbook and hook it up to the phone. ;)

That's the other reason I like the N82 - no touch screen!  It was OK on my SE K850i, until it started playing up, and the 'keys' were working without being touched.  I also found it extremely annoying when, having written out a long text or email, you just happened to touch the 'Back' key by mistake, and lost the lot!  Apparently this happens with some Samsungs too, but not sure about all of them.

I've had a play with an N96 and it is really sluggish - so much so that I couldn't live with it. Get an iPhone, you'll love it. ;)

So, is the general consensus of opinion among Nokia users that the N95 is better than the N96?  Given that these will be dropping in price as newer models arrive, I'm almost tempted to keep a lookout for one.

Tbh, I never used the N95, but I really didn't like the N96. It felt cheap and plasticy, and it was horrible to use.

The N95 8GB is a great phone Simon better battery than the N96, it has a  Graphics gpu same camera as the N96 its more solidly built as well, the N96 is very plastic, the N95 lacks the digital tv but since that does not work in the uk whats the point, you can get a good phone a lot cheaper, the N97 is coming out next year which is touch screen and full qwerty as well but I bet it will be pricey
