Disconnected   router turned to red, still cant get on via desktop  ???
Many hammer all over the wall and believe that with each blow they hit the nail on the head.

dlorde

Yup, same for me.

I have to say that with Pipex I didn't get regular disconnections like this - but when they did occasionally disconnect, they were down for hours rather than minutes... hard to say which is more annoying.

But OTOH at least my speeds with IDNet are 10x faster (yes) and they give you someone to complain to  ;D

David

Back on line  ??? :( what was that all about ?

It was about 2 minutes, David.  :)

Oh right, well I just left well alone, and by the time I'd made a cup of tea, it was back on again.

I've noticed one or two websites being quite slow, Next in particular, but I put it down to extra traffic with the sales.

It's probably BT messing around, or at least that's what they usually find the cause to be. We'll see when the IDNet guys return. :)

Tacitus

FWIW - I'm not on iDNet - something similar happened to me with my Demon connection around tea time yesterday.  I don't think the line dropped, but PPP must have gone down.

Rik

No down time recorded here. The last couple of times this has happened was when BT were doing maintenance on one of the centrals and when there was an outage at the Ilford data centre (or whatever it's name properly is...).

I'll see if I can get any info.

Just an answer Rik,  seems a lot of the web is on a go slow or down, strange thing my speed has almost doubled

Rik

I'm seeing pretty much normal speeds, Bob, except from 'sales' sites, which were going slow from the outset.

Have you done a BT speed test?

BT speed test never seems to work for me ,but I will try again.

Rik

If you can't get to BT, can you try the ThinkBroadband one, and let me know the results plus your sync speed, attenuation and noise margin?
