Hi
I'm trying to login to my email account but it keeps saying wrong username and password but it isn't as its ok in Outlook Express i have 2 email accounts and it won't let me log into either of them has anyone else had this problem?

Nerval

No Steve, it won't let me log into webmail either - though it's all fine in OE.

stevelondon

Thanks for trying mate i wondered why seems its a fault on the site.  ;)

sallyandjames

Did IDnet get PN's old mailservers?

Here's one that they were getting rid of, perhaps IDnet got it our of the skip and pressed it into use?

Nerval

Nah you got that the wrong way round.  That's Plusnet's being delivered. ;D

Still mail probs regularly there I see.

But the vol of posts on the forum looks way down - not been there recently, but just had a look at recent posts and there's far fewer than there were.  Can't be improving, so I assume everybody's left.

sallyandjames

Never been daft enough to use their mailsystem, so can't comment from experience, although it appears to be working based on other folk's posts (or lack of)

You won't know we got a new pipe on its way then will you if you don't read the boards any more? (12.5% increase in bandwidth)

Checking the picture, I've posted the wrong one, that yellow thing you can see is actually their server room, and the grey box is the node that connects to the support guy they got from microsoft......

BT now own Plusnet, news out today..  ;)

Didn't know that - but I don't think it's enough to tempt me back.

Peter's no doubt done the calculations to show that capacity will then be up to the 2003 level when Pn had half the customers it has now.

I notice the "we" though in what you say. You're well on the way to being offered a job there lol

sallyandjames

They can't afford me!  :P

BT Don't actually own PN yet (I still have my shares  ;) ) Its just been passed by the office of fair trading, thus they have the green light to complete the deal. Estimates are that it'll be complete within a week or two.

Don't want you back.  ;D
IIRC you left because P2P was rate limited? (although wasn't that just the last straw in a long line of annoyances?)
The less folks trying to use P2P AFAIC the better!  ;)

Joking apart, I've still not had any problems with any of the 10 or so accounts I have with them. My home account is the slowest running @ 3.5Mb, which see's a throughput of just below 3Mb in peak times.
The rest are better than that, with my work one acheiving a steady speeds like this.

Extra bandwidth will help increase that some more, and while they are poor at getting the balance right with regard traffic shaping, at least the network will be sustainable once video on demand starts showing its head above the parapet. Those who just rely on having enough bandwidth based on their customer numbers will inevitably suffer! (You guys should be OK for quite a while though, the large number of business customers using IDNet will provide enough unused bandwidth over evenings and weekends to provide you with good speeds during peak times - you only need to worry if you keep on getting large influxes of residential customers.)

Thanks for that, and yes, sorry, I misread the info, clearance has been given.

Anyway I  feel well rid of them.

Its more or less the same thing though, so don't lose sleep over it. ;D

I  lied about the karma

sallyandjames

Minus one for you then Nerval for fibbing!
One extra for Rik in place of your missing one.....

Nerval

I lied about the fibbing, so now Rik's got 2!!!

Rik

LOL.

Do you two want to keep fighting over me. :)

sallyandjames

Hmm, we like fighting for no reason, you have come along and made us feel as if there is a purpose to it.

:banana2:

Nerv, you can have your Karma back in an hour.

Nerval

Your hour is a totally random figure, rather like all Tony Blair's "targets".
You can keep it. :banana2:

Trouble is if we fight with Rik for giving us a purpose to fight, then he'll have given us another purpose to fight, so that's no good.

Speaking of which, Sooty has been fighting daily for the past week.  I'll have to get some bromide to put in his tea.  :police:

Rik

Too late, I gave you both one (if you'll pardon the phrase), but S&J's has gone again... :(

Bromide is no good, get some oestrogen.
