Time for a change

Much modified Fujitsu 'puter now around 8 years old seeks replacement.
Have been creeping around various sites and PC specialist seems quite good but their supplied mobo has no IDE support.
Any suggestions pls. and note that I will require 2 ide supports on the mobo in addition to sata as I have 2 well loaded IDE 80Gb HD drives.
A few views from peeps who have recently built their own together with 'I wish I'd done that instead' comments would be greatly appreciated.

Well first of all I would dump the 2 IDE drives, the much faster SATA cost only about £33 for a replacement 160Gb.

If you can't afford a high spec PC now, start with a high spec motherboard and mid-range CPU and Video, you can upgrade them on the same board later.

I still like to include a floppy drive in my builds.

A lot of MB's still have one IDE port, so if your desperate to keep the old drives you'll need SATA for the DVD drives or just use it temporarily to copy the data if no other backup

How about an ide pci card? I'm assuming such a thing is available.

i got a sata to ide converter off ebay for £3

worked fine
