Having read :
http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=8927.0

I followed the firewall settings thus:

5. Firewall Settings -

Open page http://gateway.2wire.net/management and then from the  menu list select Firewall, Advanced Settings

Under Security tick the Stealth Mode and Block Ping boxes

Under Inbound and Outbound Control untick Remote Management

Click the SAVE button in both boxes

I could not find the save buttons, however the settings  seemed to stick. since then on rebooting my system I frequently get a "Blue Screen" (whatever that is) error. I have now removed the firewall setting, so will see if it cures that problem. If it has any ideas as to where the problem may lay please?
Nothing is perfect, not even my ignorance!

A blue screen error is usually a Windows problem, BB. I can't think how it would be caused by the router. Is there any error code displayed? (The button is Submit, not Save, on my router, btw.)

True, but one of the cures suggested by Windows is firewall problems.

It is Save on my 3 routers here  :)

Rik, do you want to edit the guides to show the 2 possible choices ?

I don't even have a "remote management" option there.   ???

Mind you, I don't know what the mention of key codes is about either.  Maybe mine is all different.

Hi Ann, nice to see another person, who like me, is not a clever clogs!  ;) I worry at times I do not even understand the questions, let alone the answers!

It varies depending on what firmware you have.
