Those are the ones connected to those numbers. There are also 2 white/brown cables not connected.

If your dog doesn't like someone you probably shouldn't either.

Okay. What I would do is make a note of which wires are connected to which terminal number on the current faceplate, just in case. Then, connect up only the following wires:

Blue with white bands to 2
Orange with white bands to 3
White with blue bands to 5

yorkshireblonde

thank-you
Goingto disappear for a while now while I try this!!!

Careful, Karen, you'll upset Jill. :) However, I am very poorly and could do with some brow soothing if you're in the area.

There there everyone. Take 2 pills (smarties are good for the chocolate input) lie down and if it doesn't get better tell someone else. Thats a typical nurse answer isn't it? :out:

Rik

It's a typical Netters answer, which is much more important.  :thumb:

David, you could come and live near to me, they have a nice place there for you, just outside Crowthorne, it is named after moor that was broad ;)

Ignore these guys Karen, they'll wander off-topic at the drop of a hat.    :)

The big question is, did fitting the new faceplate make a difference to the stats?

Sadly no it didn't. I just think I am too far away from the exchange. Mind you I may ask a friend who lives close to me to check their stats just to make sure.

That may not tell you too much, Karen. Their line could take a completely different route back to the exchange, or be on a better or worse piece of cable. To give you an example, my immediate neighbours can only get a 512k service, across the road gets 1Mb, a couple of doors away gets 2Mb and I get 3. It may help that I was the first broadband user here, and had a friendly engineer who looked for the best exchange pair for me. ;)
