resurrecting the original subject of this thread  ;D could I (how) connect two laptops wirelessly, a usb printer and an external usb hard drive. with no "main pc" I have a speedtouch 585 router.

You need a print server, or a new router that has USB ports for printer/hard drive.

I think you're coming at this from the wrong way. He clearly needs a NAS box and a new printer with built in networking!

Nas stands for network attached storage. Basically its an external hard drive, a hard drives, with a wired network connection. Many of the boxes support various forms of raid.

Well it arrived..........hope the speed it works at is faster than the time it took to arrive  ;D might get the router to match  :laugh:

Dont know how to do it but got everything.....................have to order a faceplate for the upstairs but thats cosmetic and Im in no hurry for once   ;D
