profile slow

Good day, I just got connect to IDNET HOME MAX from TISCALI/ezeedsl. speedtest showed that my profile is only 2000 kbps.v

Normally i get 6.5mbps on thinkbroadband speed test but obviously with this profile, my speed is quite low.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1848 kbps

Will it sort itself out or should i be worried?

I think you will need to wait a few days as your line retrains, but someone more qualified than me will pop along very shortly

Hi Glenn, thanks. I was hoping that the profile would start high and work itself down rather than the other way round. By the way,the test shown was from BT speedchecker.

Hi Will and welcome to the forum.

Bt seem to bring people in on 2M profiles these days and it will find its natural level over the next few days.

Welcome to IDNet!

All migrations are given a 2Mb profile by BT for some reason, but it'll clear in a few days.

With that attenuation and margin, you'll get a 7150 profile with no problem, and nigh on 24Mbps when your exchange goes live with WBC. I'm jealous.

It certainly looks like it, 6db attenuation suggests about 600 metres.
