Hi

I am a subscriber to the Easynews service. (Sounce of music, videos etc - not P2P). I typically use a download manager to download from the Easynews website. When I do this (opening 18 concurrent connections) I get a download speed of about 240K (about the peak for my connection). However, if I just do a "Save As" from internet explorer, the most I get is about 70K. Easynews has an option to perform a trace from their servers back to my host. When I do this, it shows high losses when it hits the last few hops.

HOST                                                             LOSS         RCVD        SENT           BEST         AVG       WORST
linx-gw12.LON.GB.net.DTAG.DE      0%   10   10   143.76   144.22   145.96
???               100%   0   10   0   0   0
telehouse-gw-bb.idnet.net                      40%   6   10    145.57   326.59   1211.95
???               100%   0   10   0   0   0

The trace then goes on to say that the router most likely to be causing problems belongs to idnet and shows that my peak download speed will be about 77K.

What is going on? 18 concurrent connections gives me my full speed (240K ish) but single connection only 70K. Are idnet throttling or is there something configured wrong on my pc?

Thanks for any help
