Arathorn

Hi

Samknows shows that my exchange (Addiscombe) was 21CN WBC enabled as of today's date.

My question is, what difference will I notice from my IDNet connection down the line?

Cheers

Arathorn  :)

Hi Arathon, some will be along soon who knows more than I but not a lot at the moment I think is the answer.you would need to put yourself up for trials with IDnet is the short answer.

But give it a while and someone more in the know will be along  :thumb: :welc2: :karma: Good to see you here

Your current package will not be affected.

Shortly Idnet will offer WBC packages and I understand that they are carrying out WBC trials at the moment, if you approach them you may be allowed to take part in the trials.

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Glenn

From what I understand, only those sync'ing above 3mb will get an improvement in connection/download speed due to the line length

Basically it does nothing for those on the lower end of the ADSL scale, the higher your current speed the bigger improvement you will see.  Those under 3.5mb will only see very very small improvements as Glenn says.

Something like the attached graph.

As others mention, Arathorn, your current package won't be affected. You will need to switch to a WBC package, when available. :)

Sorry to hijack your thread Arathorn but I've just noticed my exchange has just had 21CN WBC enabled.

Woo Hoooooo!

Guess I'm too late for the IDNet trials but it's quite exciting to know nonetheless... :yeay:

To stay is death but to flee is life.

Ann

We should have a WBC party every time someone gets enabled.  We could string this out for years  :evilb: :banana2:

Azy

My exchange will be enabled 31 march (fingers crossed), but i sync at 2326 so it won't be worth changing over
What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got, say, pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angels' trumpets and devils' trombones. You are invited!

Rik

Same here, I sync a bit higher, but I'm very much at that end of the graph which shows little or no improvement.

Welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

I spoke to IDNet today and was told that they are currently checking their systems for 21CN WBC and trials will be announced very shortly via their website and in an email to all customers inviting them to apply for the trial if their exchange is enabled. Can't wait as at a good time of the day BT Speedtester shows a download speed of approx 6.7 MB

Gary

Our exchange is not going 21 CN till 2011  :shake: to small to bother with I guess, and no set date for WBC at all because of that
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Sebby

They actually tend to go WBC before 21CN, Gary. WBC is BT's ADSL2+ product, whereas 21CN is the move from a PSTN to IP network.
