David

Just got back from Maplins settled for a Prosound PC1 soundcard its vista compatable Full duplex playback and recording
Microphone echo effects
ACPI compliant power down management
Stereo front and rear 3.5 jack

It comes with the CD which I am hoping will sort this problem out.for under £10 and a little work I may have a better sound than before.
Looks fairly easy to install the hardest bit seems to ensure all the old player is out of the machine. :fingers:

If it's an onboard card, and I assume it is, then there will be an option in the BIOS to disable it, David. I have one disabled because I preferred to use a Soundblaster.

Do you know the make and model of the MB and BIOS, David? you could then download the manual from the mfgrs. web site and find the settings in there.
