My iphone was delivered today. Sadly the usual happened; parcel force didn't deliver because no one was in, and apparently now won't leave deliveries at the sorting office. God only knows when/how/if I'll get it.

If you have got a tracking number I think you can rearrange the delivery via their web site  :thumb:

Just sent them an email. I just got the auto reply stating they'll deal with my enquiry in 2 days. Great!

It has several security patches that stop nastys roaming your iPhone, tbh I would, its better to be safe than sorry it did not take long to do and all seems to run fine.

Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Lance

I've updated mine fine as well. Hopefully it will the stop th problem I had with reported battery life.

I was finding that if it was left plugged in for a couple of hours or so after finishing it's charge, it would drop straight away to 97% when I unplugged it.

not updating mine as I'm having trouble with iTunes on Win 7 64bit. So don't want to run the risk iTunes c*cking up half way through and messing my phone up.

Lance

I use windows 7 64 bit with no problems fortunately!

Mine was fine up until new years eve and iTunes suddenly decided not to like my windows 7.. I've tried all the usuall stuff, uninstall all apple programs, remove there hidden folders, clean reg etc. Still does not want to work correctly..

I created another user account, installed it and it works fine for that account, so i guess something is corrupted on this account. Planning to do a reformat anyways.

Niall

I got my iphone yesterday, I would have posted about it and the apps but I was busy being a MASSIVE NERD! ;D

After I downloaded the wrong version of itunes, because I'm a tard, I downloaded the 64 bit version for Vista and installed it with no problems although it does take a fair while to install itself, which surprised me.

I begrudgingly installed itunes as you have no choice in the matter, and straight away I was irritated by the fact I had to add my bank details in order to browse the store (may not actually be the case, but it didn't offer me a choice not to).

That was where the frustration ended. Everything after this was an absolute breeze, and I can honestly say I'd recommend this phone to anyone for ease of use. On installing it via itunes (which I thought was a strange way to do it, but hey ho) I liked the way it pulled my email info from my PC so I can now check my IDnet newsletters and bills from a random field :D I can't see a way of adding hotmail though, which it would have done if I'd installed itunes on my laptop as that still holds all the settings :( Still if there isn't an app or way of doing it, I can go to the webpage so it's not a total loss.

The other thing I liked was the sheer volume of apps! There's pretty much something for everyone in there, and some are so unbelievably bad I wonder how they can charge £0.59p for them; don't Apple monitor these apps? Still, there are some hilarious ones like the X-ray photo one. Have a look on the itunes store at that, at the people that have bought it and complain it doesn't work. Oh how I laughed!

One app that I saw that the nerd in me instantly adored was Find me (I think it was called that anyway) which is basically for when you're in an area you're not familiar with and you're meeting someone you can send a gps position via google maps to someone so they know where you are! That's ace ;D

So far the only apps I've bought are Battleships (spent two hours playing that!) and Red Dwarf app (I told you I was a nerd!), but I've got a load of really good free apps. Google earth, a weather one, twitter, facebook, TV Guide, Direct gov travel news, BBC Reader, ebay, flashlight, Flickr and about 10 others including some games. Wordsearch, tic tac toe, connect 4 solitaire to name a few.

As for the browser, Safari, that seems extremely good on the phone. Minimalistic and does what it says on the tin...erm safaris? :D

The ONE thing I'd say against the phone itself is the battery life. I played Battleships last night and it ate half of my battery in 2 hours. That being said, I'm not disappointed as I was playing a game which is bound to hammer a battery. The only other gripe I can think of at the moment is the fact it doesn't come with a cover or a stand for your desk. That seems like a massive oversight considering how easy it is to damage the screen. My cat fwapped the phone across the dining room this morning, off the dinner table which pleased me no end!

I'm going to have a nose about in a bit for just that sort of thing. Ideally I need a longer cable too as my PC has 4 or 6 usb slots at the rear of the PC, behind the desk, so it's a bit of a stretch. I'd like to be able to use it when it's connected!

One other thing about apps, the Facebook one is so fast it's untrue. On my PC and laptop, on various browsers, it takes ages to update. On my iphone I'm getting updates almost 2 minutes before they're coming up in my browser!

I agree the OS on the iphone is far superior than anything else I've come across.

I'm not sure if it's the browser or o/s. I think it may just be the cut down version of Facebook. There are no adverts or anything, and you've got a separate page for each thing with it, so that probably helps a hell of a lot.

I forgot to mention, the camera is pants. It's like one from 4 years ago!

There's a Facebook app, you know?
