Thanks, I was beginning to wonder if they'd started building lasers into the things. :)

I've just bought my daughter the IPod touch, she has 4 pages of apps already, just free ones though  - seems pretty good and keeps her amused and off my pc as she can surf at home on the network for facebook etc.

Well I used that redlaser app again today it works even dim areas very well. Belkin fastcat 10m 5e Ethernet  patch cable in grey, £5.98+ shipping came to £11 in all as I needed it tomorrow, from Amazon. PC world wanted £34.95 for it, how they justify the price bewildered me, I was asked what I was doing with the box and my iPhone, and I just said saving money, when he women looked at the prices on my phone she just said I'm so sorry and waked away looking uncomfortable after she said she cannot see them surviving as no one buys from there store any more.

You have to pay for firmware updates on the iTouch I believe, so big version updates may be worth it. iPhone ones are free  :dunno:

I've just downloaded an app called thetrainline. Anyone who has ever used their website will be able to guess what it does, yep it does train timetables! It does them in quite a good way though, using gps to find your nearest station with simple and well laid out menus.

I use the National Rail one.. its not cheap but i like the "live" view you get, see the little blue flashing dot move as the train moves :)

Lance

I refused to pay for something which is available on the web already though :)

National Rail did shut down a few apps before. Thats one reason why i went with them for. I didnt want an app that could stop working one day just because they got in a mood!

Lance

I think thetrainline app should be safe as they are a pretty big/well known site. :)

This isn't an app, but it may help you recover your phone if lost http://www.apple.com/mobileme/whats-new/

I have been playing with iSpy, its fun watching webcams from your bed on a cold night and seeing what's happening in Japan or on the streets of NY  ;D bit voyeuristic but fun

If you're bored you can watch a tiny bit of Wrexham where nothing much ever happens (unless the cafe it's pointed at is open :D)
