OK I've installed and configured NOD32 AV on all my partitions, now I have a wierd error on them all  :dunno:

Everything works fine till I come to closing down, then windows freezes for a couple of seconds after which an error box flashes on screen then disappears and windows shuts down as normal. The error box is not visible long enough for me to read the entire thing, all I've managed to read is "This application cannot start because windows is shutting down"

I suspect it's something I've either set or not set within NOD, anyone any ideas  ???

Cheers
Tony

No, but how about disabling auto-restart in Device Manager and see if that gives you time to read.

Auto Restart is disabled Rik  :dunno: The error only shows up when I'm actually shutting down so theres no way I can think of to keep the message onscreen as the system has already cleared the error before the message appears then it continues shutting down  ???

Fast fingers on the pause key, Tony? I know what you mean, though, I've had the same trouble trying to read error messages. :(

I would think it creates an error log file somewhere on the drive, there may also be an entry in the Windows event log

Been checking that link Noreen and it appears to be a problem with NOD and SP3 can't understand why it's also affecting XP64 with SP2 though  :dunno: Here's the thread http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=235326&highlight=error+shutting

Still no reply from Eset in that thread yet but as it doesn't cause me any problems I can live with it  :sigh:

I wonder if they'll allow people to 'downgrade' to v3.

If it was causing me any problems I'd be on to them for that Rik  :rant2: BUT as I said it works fine it's just that couple of seconds delay when shutting down which I can live with,,,, just  ;D

Thanks for all the help people  :ithank:
