I am moving house and have ordered a line there which will go live 30th March. BT gave me a provisional number. I ran it throught the BT broadbander checker and it gave the following message. Is that normal for a number that isn't live yet?

THE ADSL BROADBAND AVAILABILITY CHECKER

For Telephone Number XXXXXXXXX on Exchange XXXXXXXXX

Your exchange has ADSL broadband.

However, despite an engineer's visit to your premises it has been proved not possible for your telephone line to support broadband service. Please accept our apologies. We are continuing to look for alternative technology solutions and this site will be updated with developments as they happen.

Don't worry about it, until the line is active, that tends to be the database response.
