I have come across this application xobni.  It does lots of things with your Outlook email and indexes everything in an easy to use form. Go to www.xobni.com to download it.  Oh by the way it is completely free. :thumb: ;D ;D

I'm impressed, Lance. It does a neat job. Now, of course, I have to go and learn about Facebook. :)

I'm quite impressed as well - I particularly like the conversation feature which would be useful at work. However, I thought it was slow to index just the recent email, and dread to think how long it would take on my work email account which has thousands of items (over 5000 sent items alone). Doesn't matter though as I'm still on Office XP at work and therefore can't use it anyway!

Rik

It was the conversation feature which attracted me.

If you're promising a rub down first...  :eyebrow:

Seriously, just what is Facebook about - I struggle to understand the purpose?

It's a way of keeping up to date with what friends and family are doing and keeping in touch.  There are other strange things you can do on there, I just click away and see what happens.  It is better than Messenger or email as if people are logged in they can respond immediatly or as soon as they want and you can more easily share photos, videos and other things with others.

It's really just another way of keeping in touch with added extras.  I only join these things so I can keep an eye on the grand children to see what they are up to and report anything dodgy to their dad. ;D

If you join then I'll be your friend Rik.

I guess it comes down to whether you're a networking type, or go in for one-to-one communication then, Alf?

Facebook has come under fire for privacy issues, I think they are all sorted but what  hate is you cannot actually delete a profile, just put it into hibernation as such, I prefer more privacy and tbh hese sites are a minefield for virus laden apps and videos, I use Myspace bt so rarely now, and at last i can delete that account in its entirety if I want to, but they all are as bad as each other.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

Thanks, Gary, I've always felt a bit wary of them.

I think the secret of using facebook is not to download or open things that you know to be not right and to not join all those goups or games and definately don't put up any private information.

Those were about my thoughts, Alf, so that means very little goes up then. :)
