I've been busy revamping and updating my Web site over the last  few days, I've got it hosted temporarily on my WHS at this address Scolebrook Shelties for testing prior to uploading it to my normal hosting site.

It's still a work in progress at the moment but I would be very pleased if any one has a few minutes to spare they could check it out for usability, any broken links, anything that doesn't work or any spelling mistakes etc. the server is normally online between 06:00 and 23:00 every day.

Site a bit slow, generally. Otherwise everything seems to work, including the links, though I felt there was a site missing from them for some reason.

Yes it would be a bit slow being hosted on my WHS, when can we have the same speeds upstream as downstream?  Thanks, Rik, I missed that one thought it was a dirty mark on my screen.  ;D
Which site would that be then, this one by any chance?  ;)

If you want to see how your website looks with different browsers and OS try this site http://browsershots.org/.  It can take quite a while to run depending on how many browsers you choose to check out, but at least you can make sure your pages look pretty in different browsers  :)

Martin

Rik

That's really handy, thanks, Martin. :karma:

It's the same on Firefox on my Mac.

Rik

I wonder if it's Mac or Firefox, Seb? Do you have another browser you could try?

Sebby

It's fine in Safari on the Mac, so it's the Mac version of Firefox that's to blame.

Rik

Thanks, Seb. Web standards again. :sigh:

I wonder if it is web standards this time. I think it's more likely to be something to do with Firefox's rendering engine for the Mac...

Rik

I wonder how we could test?

I've just run it through all the MAC browsers on the site Martin posted and it's definitely a problem with FF it's OK in V2 but not V3.

In the MAC O/S you mean, Rik.  ;D

I know what I mean. :)

The problem here is that Apple will blame Mozilla, Mozilla will blame your coding.  :shake:

I blame Mozilla, given that Safari works.

I can make FF on WinXP truncate the email logo. If I press ctrl + which increases the page font size the email logo is as shown truncated as in the attached screenshot.

Like Ray I also use Serif Webplus to make some web pages and have noticed this effect before. Maybe something particular to the Serif product?

Ray, try the ctrl + strokes to increase your fontsize in FF and see if it happens to you too.

HTH.

you're right JB I can get the same effect, happens in IE as well, it looks like it is some peculiarity of WebPlus that's causing it.
