This thing with the applications really puts me off Windows 7, and I find it hard to believe that it really will only allow three applications to run simultaneously.

I think Windows 7 is going to be an improvement over XP, and certainly over Vista. Vista is just too resource-hungry, and if 7 sorts that (which it seems it has) then eventually most people will make the move.

Rik

I suppose it was inevitable, So.

Rik

Surely it could be considered a trojan in itself?

Is it possible to obtain a public release candidate illegally?!

I installed Windows 7 RC on my old PC a few days back to see what it's like (yes, I did get it through BitTorrent, albeit without a trojan because I know what I'm doing). It's pretty good, I have to say.

Steve

Well its installed via Virtualbox on the Macbook takes about 30 mins, you don't need to burn a DVD either you can just mount the iso in the virtualbox settings menu and off you go.

 Off to find out why its not seeing any networked computers at present. Homegroups sounds very trendy but if I can't connect to other PC's on my LAN without going through multiple hoops its going in the Trash

To link Win7 to XP, Vista, or any other O.S. you need to set up a "Work" network, the "Homegroup" only connects between Win7 computers - but they don't tell you that

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Steve

Thanks Alan. The problem was the virtual network adaptor its happy in "bridged mode' now,the default virtualbox setting was "NAT" which gives me internet access only.
