I'm finding that since the latest update for Firefox, I can no longer forward a link via email.

I get a message stating my email client is not properly set up ?????

you could try  Tools > Options >Applications tab and look at Mailto in the list to see what its trying to use

Rik

I never knew that existed. :) It works perfectly here. What client are you using?

sorry try that in Firefox not your email client

Lona

Checked my options on firefox and have winmail as my default which is correct.

Everything was working perfectly until firefox updated itself.

When I try to send a link from firefox I get the message that my email client isn't installed properly and then IE comes up saying I am not connected to the internet which is rubbish.

It may be a MAPI issue between Firefox and Winmail, unfortunately, I don't use the latter. When IE comes up, is the connection set correctly to never dial?

It sounds like Firefox doesn't know what your default mail client is, Lona. Are you using Outlook Express?

Lona

I figured it out after much trial and error.

When I open IE which I never use I noticed the send link was greyed out so I went into options there and set winmail as the default.  I then tested sending a link using IE and it worked.  I then loaded Firefox and my send link button is working again.

I can only assume that the last windows update I did screwed things up as the send link was working just before updating both windows and firefox.

The last batch of Windows updates do seem to have had some rough edges. :( Glad you're sorted.  :thumb:
