Over the last few days I have noticed that web pages seem very slow to load, at first I thought it might be my internet, but when I went to check my router stats even that page was slow to load. Anyone experienced this before, and know if its time for a new router, or if theres a possible fix?

Could you post the stats from your router and also the results of a BT speed test? :)

Ahh nm, I just booted up my old pc & everything is fine on that, so it must be a problem with this pc, sorry for that. Now to try figure out what the problem is on here.

Spyware and virus scans would be my first line of thought.

Maybe if it comes up clean, look for firmware updates for your router after checking reviews on them, and update drivers for your network adaptors as well as a really good defrag, and maybe a clean up with a free program like CCleaner, leave the registry alone cleaning that has very little effect on real word performance, but clean the junk in the trunk out, so to speak  :)

Thanks for the advice all, I only did a full update & scan with all my anti spyware / antivirus a couple of days ago, in fact I wonder if that was what caused it. Fixed it now, in case anyone else gets this problem, I ran WinsockxpFix, rebooted, strangely it couldnt acquire an ip address from my router automatically, but once I put in my static settings everything was fine again, router page now loads instantly again, & web pages seem fine.

Winsock errors can cause complete loss of connection, I know the horrid Nvidia network access manager and Nod32 used to cause that issue running together, and a winsock repair was the only way to fix it, then remove NAM for all the good that it did, glad you are up and running  :thumb:
