Thanks for the updates, will not be able to see if problems persist still until sunday evening which will be my next raid event in world of warcraft.

QuoteThe update detailed the loss of a Home Gateway which was resolved at 23.05 last night

Thanks for the update, Miriam. Indeed, as other users stated, around 23.10-ish, the problem seemed to be resolved based on latency and packet loss frequency.

I personally thoguht it would simply be all the Brits getting sleepy and heading to bed early  ;D But that misdirected outage explains it more likely.

Cheerio

It needn't be.  Don't forget, we're not just here for problems.  :)

Well tonight I won a new Harry Potter Wand on my healing priest as things seem to be back to normal and I was able to raid on a stable connection. Looks like Miriam's report was indeed an accurate explanation of yesterday's problems.

Well the problems aren't gone, same thing happening as yesterday.  Not dropping but severe lag spikes, enough to crash my counter-strike, lag me out of vent, makes web pages very slow to load.  It's intermittent, comes and goes.  Happened round the same time yesterday and cleared up around 9pm after a 30min router reboot.  Will let you know when it stops today, if it stops *fingers crossed*

gw6 here.

I'm averaging 20ms to IDNet right now. What server are you on?

I meant the gaming server, Glenn. I'm on gw6, as are you, so I don't think it's  realm/gateway issue.

Blimey when I posted I never thought I'd generate 4 pages worth of posting!!  I don't seem to be having any issues now, however, I've not raided since.  Not heard anyone complaining last couple of days though.   :fingers: its cleared up whatever it was :)

Cheers all

Raiding has been fine for me, I think it was a one off :)

Which points at this Ealing BT problem, strange how these things knock on...

Still got the same problem, started around the same time again.

gw6, intermittent packet loss from around 5pm onwards to 7pm and 8pm and it's been going on since this thread started.  *sigh*

I'll ring IDnet tomorrow, too late to do it now.  Just wanted to log it in here incase anyone else was still having these problems.

Am also on gw6 and speeds are diabiolical via several speed checkers (four, including BT), down to 1.2mb  to 1.5 Mb at times. Never had this before during the day, even with the extremely duff Sky Connect package always had max speeds of 6.7 Mb plus all day. Something, I know not what, is not quite right with the system. Has only reared its ugly head within the last couple of weeks. :dunno:

Just played a simple youtube video and it is not running as it should, slight hesitancy.

Rik

Pings for me to IDNet are at 21ms, downloads and speed tests are normal for my line, (3M sync/2.5M profile). As I'm also on GW6 (though have checked via GW5 and DSL4), it suggests a geographical issue to me, eg BT backhaul or exchange congestion. All I can suggest it that you contact support, Q, so that they can take a look for you.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 2784 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  832 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1827 kbps

Mine is OK for my line too

Up until around two weeks ago everything was fine but there is now a blip in the system that is not quite right. Will monitor and if no improvement will take your advice. :thumb:
