Quite like the look of these.  Anyone got one, or any other Blackberry?  Would you recommend?  Can you import phone book, etc, from a Nokia?

I've not, but i've used a nokia e71 recently and even with my fat fingers found it easy to use. I had it hooked up to my work email in less than 5 mins.

The Storm is all touchscreen, Lance.  I know I said I'd never go for one, but I can't see me getting on with the small keys on the other models.  Will look at the Nokia.  :)

I had use of the nokia when in belgium last week. When i first saw it i thought exactly the same as you about the small buttons but in practice it wasn't a problem.

When i played with the Storm in a shop, i really didn't like the touch screen. I would rather it didn't try to feel like pressing a normal button and was solid like an iphone.

You mean, there's 'give' in the screen?

Looking at the E71 now.  Need to see one 'in the flesh', really, to get a better idea of the size of the keys.

Get a netbook, problem solved. ;)

It would be something else to carry round, and there's no wi-fi where I work.

Two things common to most reviews of the E71 are good build quality, and a bug free OS.  I just need to see that I can cope with the keys, then find a black one at the right price.

I was thinking of using the phone as a modem via Bluetooth.

Still something else to cart about.  I'd rather have less to carry round, given that I'm swapping vehicles three times a day.

You could get a nice satchel to cart everything about in. :)

I have the Blackberry Bold. I don't really like touch screens but this may be due to bad experiences with the "work" phone which is an HTC. I'm not sure about importing phone numbers, but I'm sure that's a facility that most of the shops offer.

I must admit, the Blackberry is one of the best gadgets I've ever had, I love it! Have a look at Crackberry.com forums, I'm sure the folks over there can help with any specific queries.

I've just had a look at a Nokia E71, and a Blackberry Storm, and have to say, the Storm is kew-ell!  ;D  The touchscreen would take some getting used to, but I found myself making less errors than I would have without the 'clickable' screen, and the buttons are bigger than on the Nokia.  I thought the Nokia looked slightly clunky, and the screen wasn't all that big, but I found the keys just about OK, again, I suspect, with some getting used to.

My current O2 tariff can be changed to the Blackberry one, for an extra £2.50 per month, giving me 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited data for £20pm.  I'm definitely tempted.  >:D

Edit: Smiley markup sorted, maybe ;)

Only problem might be that I thought the Storm was exclusive to Vodafone...

I'm not a massive fan of Blackberrys. They're good email devices, but I find the interface so confused and illogical.

Lance

I was thinking they were vodafone only as well, Sebby.  :dunno:

In what way confusing, Seb?  The one I saw seemed to have everything available from the 'desktop', albeit, mostly Vodafone branded apps.  You can get them unlocked, and debranded, I think.  Will have a look around tonight.

I don't mean the Storm is confusing, but the non-touchscreen models.

You're like me. When you decide you like something, you just buy it. :)

Simon

eBay.  BNIB, unlocked.  Should arrive Thursday, which gives me time to sort out with O2.
