Just done a BT speedtest to check my profile and the speedtester has changed.

It worked just on my phone number - didn't ask for IDNet login, and it doesn't give the profile any more.  It's in my bookmarks so I know I got the right thing.

Anybody any idea what is going on, and where the one with the profile has gone?

Same here Nervs saw your post and tried it no profile anymore.

This has been discussed over on TB. My guess is that too many people aremed with an IP profile were giving BT grief via the ISPs. :(

Apparantly you now get redirected to this page if the system is overloaded.

This is their old stylee page which doesn't give profile details.

Although some people are saying the usual profile test is working for them after several attempts.

jakarra

hey guys dont know about anyone else but tonight has been a good night for me good pings and good d/l speeds, just thought I would mention it as I was complaining earlier  :D

Makes sense, though the new system is usually overloaded, so I guess we'll see quite a bit of the old one. :(

Apparently there is a problem with people being routed to the old tester. It seems that this may relate to your phone number and/or when you moved to Max.

Mr Saffron (Andrew) over at ThinkBroadband is inviting people to contact him if they keep getting the old tester, see here.

Yeah I'm one of them and emailed him this afternoon. Haven't tried it early morning or late evening though as I only remember at the same time each day...lunchtime.

Rik

I've tried it from 5am to 2am, I'm now permanently getting the old tester so I emailed Saffy this afternoon.

Yeah..same result for me at 7.30am.

Rik

What always puzzles me with this sort of thing is what has been changed. It used to work for me, it still works for others, so what have BT done?

Seems fairly straightforward to me. To report a fault you need to run a BT Speedtest, the BT Speedtest (new stylee) is borked...no fault reports for BTW.  ::)

Ooooooh, handbags with BT

I got this rubbish.....

You have already performed a test within the last 30 minutes. Please come back later and retry your test. Constant attempts to retest will be logged by the system and may be reported to your ISP.

Rik

Obviously, the system has decided you are a naughty ADSL user who wants to find out whether reality and myth come anywhere close. :)

The performance tester which gives the profile is working for me now.  :)
