make this as short as I can. :) Have been having trouble with Office 2007 on my sons computer. Bought the student version a while back some of you may remember and installed it on his/mine and a laptop as allowed, his stopped working and we got a message saying it was locked  :dunno:

Anyway emailed our good friends at MS and got some feedback saying do this, do that etc. but it didnt work and they asked if they could contact me to work through it on the phone. Ok said I............got a call from some one today and had to use their easy access or what ever they call it. never used it before but how weird it is to see some one else 'take control' of your system while you just sit there and click stuff when they ask you to.Office  would not even uninstall or re-install from the disc so had to download it and install it from that.Sat through the techie deleting loads of registry entries and files from my sons system without me having much to do at all, it was all very un-nerving I tell you. dont know what to make of it really.

Got it sorted in the end and its now back working again so thanks to the kind lady helping me,sat at her desk speaking very good English........in India ;D

It is quite unnerving to hand over control and sit back while they do things, isn't it Baz. You just pray quietly that they know what they are doing. :)

You're far braver than me, I can't imagine letting anyone I don't know trawl through my PCs, desk, or sideboard, whatever the circumstances.

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Baz

well to be honest I didnt know thats what they were going to do, thought they would just talk me through it. I could see everything she opened/looked at and deleted........I think  :)

I've got VNC server running on all the friends/families machines I look after. As long as it isn't a internet connection issue I can normally sort it from the comfort of my own home!
