I don't understand why it often works, Gary, the only half-logical explanation I can come up with is that the new connection is routed differently.
Thats what I would have thought Rik, saying that I'm not keen on rebooting my router, tbh its not worth it, the last reconnect was because we had out 16 year old spinning disc electric meter replaced with a digital one

What, no UPS? :)
I had one connected for the phone and router Rik, but she who must be obeyed does not want a ups sitting in the living room, even though i told her it was a good idea keeping the router up and the phones in case of power cuts, but no its ugly is makes a slight hum, so NO! :'(

I do but its hidden well and pretty quiet its looks after the PS3 as well but where the router is the Belkin is in view so she said no even though she cannot hear the other Belkin one  :dunno:, she hears it more because she sees it I think, really annoying but her point of view is its ugly, its not needed (it is) and do I want to have dinner tonight?  ;D

Have you thought about hiding it and running a longer mains lead to the router?

I should have said Sky+, Pup. It allows it to continue recording if the power goes down, and it also serves to protect the box from over and under voltages and spikes.
