Let's blame Sebby, as he's not here to defend himself. Probably laying low.

:hehe: :whome:

Simon

The default theme has now been reset to Skyline.  Apologies for any confusion!  :)

It appears to be more complicated than that

Look at the screenshot below......... in the top right it says "Hello Kinmel" , so I am logged in. Yet across the centre of the page it says "Please note:  To view all of the main categories of the forum, you will need to log in or register."

I have 2 firefox tabs open for Idnetters and am logged into both

Complicated isn't it ?  >:(

and I only have an option to LOGOUT not LOGIN

Yes, the newsfader item is a temporary measure, Alan, directed at guests or newcomers, who may not be aware that some of the boards are only visible to members.  Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to make the newsfader 'disappear' once one is logged in.

The 'problem' is that nowhere on the default (Skyline) theme, does it say that some boards are not visible to non-members, so it was thought that potential newcomers might think, "Is that it?" when browsing the forum as a Guest.  As soon as we can get some suitable wording coded in, which will only appear to Guests, then the newsfader will be removed.

I've changed the wording slightly, so hopefully it makes more sense now.  :)

Though we are still puzzled why some people's theme was changed by an action which should only have affected new members. Computers. :sigh:
