The odd thing is that I have exactly the same software downloaded on to the Samsung Netbook as the main PC. Both have CCleaner and Avast as the AV programme. I did think it could be CCleaner but that only comes into operation when I actually call it into action, it doesn't 'optimise settings' unless I make the command, between this operation (several days) I lose the log in 'lock'.

Basically, all that is on the desktop PC is on the Samsung Netbook. It is something very simple (you know what I mean?) that is causing the problem but what it is  :dunno:

I would say that the way to go is shrug the old shoulders and carry on with enjoying this lovely summer (so far!). Let's face it,  all I have to do, on the desktop at least, is make an extra click! Not a problem within the big picture.

Many thanks for your efforts :comp: (for that is what it is)

CCleaner can be set to clear cookies automatically.  I wonder if one machine has a different CCleaner setting to the other?  Just in case it is that, how about (in CCleaner) going to Options > Cookies, and add the idnetters.co.uk cookies to the Cookies to Keep list?

It would be nice to get to the bottom of it for all that, Q. Do you have any different addons in Firefox?

By George, I think he's got it!  :eek4:

IDNetters URL was listed as 'don't keep'. Now transferred to 'keep' list and hopefully  :fingers: :fingers: :fingers: Will keep you posted as to progress from now on.

Rik, I always thought you were multi functional and could deal with standing and typing at the same time, it just goes to show how wrong you can be! ;D

I'm with Lance, Q, standing and eating is fine, but reaching the keyboard is a strain. :)

Not yet, need to ask son  :)

Avast, SuperAntiSpyware

Rik

Do the second machine check. If that's OK, then it's a setting on your machine.

Everything here now ticking over nicely ;) Stick with the chaps, it will get sorted :thumb: CCleaner was my problem and undoubtedly you will have a very similar situation. Keep the faith! (I know how difficult that can be)
