Adobe Photoshop Elements 7

I've started to get the following error box popping up every time I try to run the Photoshop Elements Organiser, all was working fine the last time I used it a couple of weeks ago. I thought it may have been the recent MS fix but undoing that didn't solve the problem and a remove and reinstall of Photoshop Elements hasn't cured it either, any suggestions gratefully received.

Just tried that, Rik, comes up a newer or equivalent version of Directx is already installed, no installation neccessary.

Thanks, Rik, unfortunately I don't use System Restore, it's turned off, I'll perhaps try a restore from the server prior to the MS fix, still think that may have something to do with it.

It does, Rik, I know the Organiser looks for all types of Media files including avi etc. when it starts up, I suspect it's finding these and then can't open them to create the thumbnails and then falls over.

Done a restore from my Server from 06:30 on 29/05/09, result, problem solved, looks like it was the MS work around causing it.

It is, Rik, I also had another strange problem with it during the evening for some reason every time I tried to save a psd file to a share it was coming up that it couldn't save the file and then windows was throwing up a delayed write failure error, but saving it as a jpg no problem. 

Finally tracked it down to some sort of conflict with my firewall, disabling the firewall, file would save as a psd to the share with no problem, re enable firewall and it now still saves to a share ok.  . looks like something must have got messed up between Photoshop and the firewall for some reason, still working fine at the moment with the firewall enabled.    Computers!!
