Is there anyone available to help me over the weekend?

Last night I was getting less than 1Mb and couldn't connect very easily at all when I tried rebooting the router and pulling the phone line out. This evening I can only get 2Mb. Earlier in the week I was getting 7.

A tracert mentions gw2 and gw3. I have a gw6 login.

Rik

Welcome to the forum, Medicineman. :welc: :karma:

What's the last three letters of your login, ie gw5 or gw6?

Hi Rik. It's gw6

sfawcett2

My sync speed is ok but my speed check goes less than 1Mb normally 4Mb

I'm GW6

I just want to say that I'm very happy with the customer service that Idnet provide.  Had a voicemail from Simon today, phoned back and straight away switched onto gw5 and now everything running smoothly.  No other ISP that I have known provide a service like this, it really is exceptional.  Keep up the good work! :thumb:

OK. While you're at the computer, or at least able to get there quickly, phone the out of hours number. You'll have to wait for a call back now as the office closed 25 minutes ago. They will give you a new login to enter into your router, and wait while you do it to make sure you can connect OK. The number is 01462 476556, you'll be talking to James.

Same advice as for Mediceman, Steve. There's a fault on the GW6 central which BT haven't yet resolved.

Thanks Rik,

I rang the number hopefully they'll get back to me.

I've been spoilt with IDNET , I've now got the speed I had with SKY slooooowwwww.... !

Steve

Rik

It hit a number of us yesterday, Steve. IDNet's monitoring shows no problems with GW6, but it looks like one segment of it has an issue. The cure is a move to the other central, hence a new login.

I don't think so. Mines up and down too. One moment I get 6-7Mb, the next test comes out as <2Mb

Rik

That's typical of the problem, get onto support and they'll be able to sort you out.

Could I exspect them to ring back tonight?
Speed ok at the moment.
Steve

Rik

I'd expect them to get back to you within a couple of hours or so.

Changed from gw6 to gw5 last evening but again serious buffering on You Tube this evening. I do hope things are not going down the road of Sky Connect? :eek4: Since returning to IDNet have not had a problem but over the last week the service has diminished considerably and, have to say, very disappointing :( Hope things can get sorted :fingers:

Simon

I am confident that any issues are of a temporary nature.

Just got call from IDNET and changed my last part of logon from .gw6 to .net.

So far so good.. time will tell.

It would have taken around 2 weeks for Sky Connect to ring me back.

Thanks IDNET.

People have been reporting a YouTube problem on TB, Q, affecting all ISPs, ie it appears to be a problem at the YT end of the chain.

Glad that's sorted, Steve. It should solve your problem.

Just done this test, I have a 3000 profile.

We are pretty confident, Q, as are IDNet. BT should have the fault fixed soon, and migrations to WBC will also get going next week, which will free up more capacity, currently there's about 20 people with a giglink to themselves. ;)
