Does this seem ok for my speeds?  I can't really make a lot of sense  of it all at the moment.

                                Down   Up
SNR margin (dB):          12.7    8.0
Attenuation (dB):         49.5    29.0
Output power (dBm):    19.0    11.9
Attainable rate (Kbps):  3936    996
Rate (Kbps):               3648    832

BT Test
Your DSL connection rate: 3648 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  832 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 2500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2269 kbps

Throughput looks OK for the profile, Alf, but the profile is low for the sync speed, suggesting some recent instability, you should be on a 3000 profile, though that may take a few days to catch up. Your target noise margin appears to have been set to 12-15db, further suggesting instability. Have you noticed the ADSL light flashing on the router lately?

No all the lights have been solid except for yesterday when, a day after I was transferred to gw5, the whole lot stopped I had to reboot and then it stopped again and after another eboot everything settled down again.  I am using a US Robotics 9015 router (adsl2 capable) and is usually holds its connection extremely well.

Maybe one of the reboots hit a slower speed, Alf. Do you know what your target margin normally is?

That's similar to what I saw wen I moved to dsl4, my profile dropped from 2000k to 1750k

It does sound like a re-sync has just upset the profile for some reason.

cavillas

I will leave it for a few days and see what happens.  Not that I'm worried as it is more than fast enough for my use.

The profile will catch up in a couple of days anyway, as long as you don't suffer further re-syncs.
