Hi All

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new up-to-24Mbps ADSL2+ broadband services, offering more bandwidth and extra low latency at no extra monthly charge* to our standard ADSL Max services. All of the following packages offer potential downstream connections of up-to-24Mbps and upstream speeds of up-to-1.4Mbps - dependent upon the quality and length of your telephone line and whether your local exchange has been upgraded to support ADSL2+. Home SuperPro (the upgrade to SuperMax) traffic also benefits from Elevated Priority QoS (Quality of Service) tagging which is standard on our Business-grade services.

Our testing to-date has established that some makes of router are not compatible with some makes of BT's Exchange equipment. In most cases updating the router firmware should remedy the problem but some manufacturers have yet to release stable firmware. So far we have identified that Draytek, and Cisco routers may need to be updated. Zyxel routers do not yet appear to have an adequate firmware update. To be clear, even these routers will work correctly on some BT equipment. However, BT will not tell us exactly which make of equipment a particular line will be connected to.

To view all the new packages and find out if your local exchange has been upgraded to support ADSL2+ please login to the customer portal using the username and password provided for your broadband account, or call us free on 0800 701 2000. Even if your line is too long to benefit from a speed boost you can still take advantage of the extra bandwidth allowance that comes with the new packages.

*Upgrades incur a small one-off fee from BT of £12.65 (including VAT) which we pass on at cost, though we will waive this fee, as well as give you a month free, if you choose to pay annually (this does not lock you into a 12 month contract - if you choose to leave IDNet during the year then we will refund you for any fully-unused months).
