Speed issues

Hi all after reverting back to ADSL Max yesterday because of speed issues I had hoped my weeks of slow speeds were coming to an end. swtchover yesterday and it was painfully slow I know the line has to retrain got so bad last night I turned off.
Just carried out test today

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 6336 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
    IP profile for your line is - 5000 kbps
    Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 783 kbps

Taking into consideration the change back is this a little on the slow side ?

I have carrried out all the checks virus checks full scans ,all clear no other connections no Sky box connected......it was fine until I changed over....I just want my service back  :fingers:

David, you need to wait for the BT firmware to catch up in the training period.

David, IDNet have a handful of cases like yours atm, where the sync speed and profile are OK, but throughput is abysmal for no apparent reason. Email your BT tests over to support and they'll add them to the group they've escalated to BT.

Hi Rik ,just got home Thanks for that I will see how it goes and give a it a few more days to see if it recovers but test later and send them over if needs be.... :fingers: :thumb:

Almost feels as if you've been penalised by having the temerity to reject WBC as "not fit for purpose". :fingers:

I wouldn't wait, David, there's a 'known unknown' issue with BT. The sooner your case gets escalated, the sooner it will be fixed.

It has picked up a little but this,if it runs to the regular pattern will go down as the evening goes on last night was

463.43 Kbps ( 0.5 Mbps )
Speed Up    378.80 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )

Hope this helps identify the issue......I am finding myself speedtesting again which is a pain and almost addivtive  :fingers:

Do you just need to send the BT Speedtest results to support?

I'm also have the same problems with stupidly slow speeds at the moment for no obvious reason for it. Line is synced at 8mb fine, but throughput is very poor.

Perfect. You have the same problem, so email that info across to support and they'll take it from there.

I'm would be very interested to hear from anyone who has reverting back to ADSL Max what latency (ping) you are getting to idnet.com.

Monitoring the forums it appears that those of you that have switched back are all experiencing low throughput and high latency, is this still the case?

Have evidence from other ISPs? What I do find slightly odd is that a couple who reverted back because of issues with ADSL2+ are still having problems, so perhaps the cause of the issue is not as clear as it would initially appear.

Certainly makes me begin to think that switching back is not necessarily a solution but I am unclear of the processes  involved in the switch I wonder does a modem have to be reset to defaults to clear the previous ADSL2+ modality settings.
