Needing some help if possible.  I am on one of the 8mb packages & was averaging 2mb speed until days ago i now only get 0.13 according to my speedtests it is very slow & confusing, does anyone have any idea?

Rik

Hi and welcome to the forum. Can you try a BT speed test for us please, that will establish a number of important bits of data.

Could you also post the stats from your router. :)

Belkin Router

Runtime Code version  F5D7633-4Av1_UK_1.00.17
Boot Code Version 1.0.37-5.15
Hardware Version  V1.0J3  WLAN Settings
ADSL Modem Code Version  A2pB018e.d16f

Is that enough info?

Glenn

What we need from the router is it's sync rate and noise margin, something like

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7808 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 26.0 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 6.4 db 22.0 db

                         D            U

Data rate (Kbps) 704         448

Noise margin (dB) 12.0       9.0

Output power (dBm) 16.1   12.4

Attenuation (dB) 60.0        31.5

Rik

Your attenuation is at 60db, which means you have a long or faulty line. Did you manage a BT test?

It really needs to be the BT test as it shows the profile.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 672 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 350 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 319 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

If you are experiencing problems with specific applications, servers or websites please contact your ISP for assistance.

Your test has completed please close this window to exit the performance tester.

Rik

You've had a very low speed sync event which has dropped your profile. Your speed is marginally better now but still not good. You need to eliminate any possibilities that it's your equipment or wiring, then contact support to involve BT.
